Tran Le Trung Chanh, Truong Quoc Bao, Nguyen Huu Cuong
Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
Among the products and medicinal herbs from lemon, the product from the lemon peel accounts for a relatively large proportion of the product value. The peeling process is the first important step to get lemon peel material and is usually performed manually. Some semi-automatic lemon peelers have been developed, but the machine has low productivity and relatively high price. This paper is aimed to propose a design of a lemon peeling machine whose peel profile is peeled into the form of a single piece of conjoined yarn by moving the blade on a circular arc tangential to the outer surface of the lemon and the lemon is rotated around the vertical axis. The test results indicated that the lemon peeling machine succeeded with a peeling capacity of about 24 kg/hour (almost twice the rate compared to manual performance) and more than 85% of the purely removal rate.

Surveying the distribution of magnetic force in the new switched reluctance motor

Phi Hoang Nha, Do Thai Cong
Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
The magnetic force distribution significantly affects electric devices' working characteristics, especially in switched reluctance motors. This distributed magnetic force determines the torque and efficiency of the motor. The examination of the magnetic distribution as well as the magnetic force is a necessary scientific matter. Therefore, two magnetic models, including the Ampere model and the virtual work principle are used to analyze and calculate the distributed magnetic force in the switched reluctance motor presented in this paper. Furthermore, switched reluctance motor which has new structure is also proposed to evaluate and compare the magnetic force distribution with the prototype switching reluctance motor structure. The survey results show that the magnetic force distributed in the two models is equivalent. The magnetic force distribution on the new switched reluctance motor structure is improved compared to the prototype motor structure.

The area that had the highest number of organic compounds (12.8%) isolated the highest quantity of bacteria (8 strains), while the other containing the lowest amount of organic matter (1.41%) detected the smallest number of bacteria (4 strains). Many parts of the plant were isolated with different numbers of microorganisms. Many tissues having cell walls composed of cellulose contained lots of matrices and had symbiotic microorganisms.

Study of the effects of honey on the properties of chitosan/gelatin membrane

Tran Quang Minh, Le Ngoc Ha Thu
Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
This research created film membrane of chitosan/gelatin base, combined with raw honey. Collected film membranes from chitosan/gelatin possess high brittleness and tensile. The gradual increase of the amount of honey from 0 to 8 % (%wt of polymers) leads to an increase in flexibility but a decrease in tensile, however the membranes still maintain the required tensile of a wound dressing. Besides, solubility, water vapor transmission rate, FT-IR, SEM and anti-bacterial showed that honey played a role of a plasticizing and anti-bacterial agent. Anti-bacterial property of honey is tested on Gram-negative Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Gram-positive Stahpylococcus aureus via the Kirby Bauer disk diffusion method. Results show that film membrane mixed with honey demonstrates the anti-bacterial ability against surveyed Gram-negative.

Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
This study aimed to determine the conditions effecting the wine fermentation process of Canarium album using Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The findings illustrate that the wine products reached a high volume of alcohol (9.04% v/v), in suitable conditions, including the yeast levels of 107cells/mL, the added saccharose concentration at 25°Brix, pH 4,0, and the fermentation time for 12 days. There was the presence of biocompounds, including phenol, tannin, flavonoid, alkaloid, coumarin, quinone, saponin, terpenoid and steroid, in canarium solution and canarium wine. The total polyphenol content of Canarium album juice is higher than wine product, particularly 60.098 mgGAE/L and 29.001 mgGAE/L, respectively. After fermentation, the reduction DPPH capacity of wine reached an IC50 value at 1.17 μL/mL, higher than the Canarium album juice (IC50 value at 4.97 μL/mL.). In contrast, examination of the peroxide H2O2 radical scavenging capacity of wine indicated insignificant changes after the fermentation, namely 6.24 μL/mL of IC50 value in canarium wine 4.47 μL/mL of IC value in canarium juice. The results show that the original Canarium album juice and wine have good antioxidant capacity.

Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
F18 fimbria plays an important role in Enterotoxigeneic Escherichia coli (ETEC) colonization and enterotoxin secretion on gut mucosa that causes post-weaning diarrhea (PWD). The vaccine offers a powerful, cost-effective, and possible approach to protect pigs against ETEC. Recently, many studies have focused on oral vaccine, which can induce mucosal immunity by targeting M cell. A body of evidence shows that protein Hsp60 is able to interact with PrPC on M cell surface. Based on Hsp60 structure model, a peptide named PEP was predicted to interact with receptor PrPC by bioinformatic calculations. To construct pET22b-pep-f18 vector, gfp gene was swapped for f18 gene from pET22b‑pep‑gfp vector. After digestion by XhoI and BamHI, f18 gene and pET22b‑pep‑gfp vector were ligated by T4 DNA Ligase. The pET22b‑pep‑f18 vector was transformed into E. coli BL21(DE3) strain, and induced by 0.5 mM IPTG. The expression of PEP-GFP protein was confirmed by SDS-PAGE Coomassie Blue staining, and Western blot probed with anti‑6xHis antibody. Finally, PEP‑F18 protein was purified by using immobilized‑metal affinity chromatography (IMAC). The results showed that the pET22b-pep-f18 vector was successfully cloned. PEP‑F18 protein was collected, and purified with high purity. This is an essential material for later immunological evaluation.

NHAN TU HOANG, Pham Quoc Huy
Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
In 2020-2021, eleven surveys on the early-life stages of shrimps were conducted in the coastal waters of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. Independent survey visits were carried out for 11 months with a frequency of 1 time/month. A total of 1,100 samples were collected by surface and vertical sampling nets. The results have identified 21 families, of which 19 taxons were classified as species and 14 taxons were identified as genera. The average density of ATT-TC is 9,073 individuals/1,000m3 of seawater. The coastal area is 16,656 ind./1,000m3, which is 2 times higher than the offshore area (6,251 ind. /1,000m3). The average density of the Southwest monsoon season is also nearly 2 times higher than that of the Northeast monsoon season, with 11,803 and 6,972 ind. /1,000m3 respectively. Two areas with a high concentration of shrimp seed resources are located outside Bai Sau and Ho Tram, reaching the highest with 13,592 ind./1,000m3. The offshore area has many buffer zones with an average density of 2,000-5,000 ind./1,000m3. In the northeast monsoon season, shrimp seed sources are distributed at a low density. In the southwest monsoon season, shrimp seed sources are still concentrated in the coastal areas but tend to expand with a background density of over 5,000 ind./1,000m3. The highest average density was 28,574 ind./1,000m3. Therefore, two areas located outside Bai Sau and Ho Tram are identified as areas with high and stable shrimp seed density, which is the scientific basis for zoning and establishing resource protection areas.

Tran Kim Toai, Vo Minh Huan, Le Ngoc Thanh, Vo Thi Xuan Hanh
Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
The use of a machine learning algorithm in combination with the data on cryptocurrency market price trends to make buying and selling decisions is studied in this paper. We suggest that agents combined with data trends should be used to make financial decisions instead of just using reinforcement learning. The research question is to answer the problem that can reinforcement learning (RL) win the financial market? RL that makes market-based buying and selling decisions can win in terms of profitability and limit risks? Results suggest that agents combined with data trends should be used to make financial decisions instead of just using reinforcement learning. Various financial indicators are applied such as Maximum Drawdown, Annual Profit, and Accuracy. Analysis results are conducted on two datasets of Bitcoin and Dogecoin, finding that the RL based on the trendline has more advantages than the RL without the trendline based on different performance indicators.
