Bài báo này đề cập phương pháp nghiên cứu thực tiễn (PPNCTT) như một công cụ hiệu quả trong việc phát triển chuyên môn cho giảng viên cũng nhưsinh viên ngành Giáo dục Tiểu học. Cụ thể, giảng viên đảm nhiệm môn Tập giảng Tiếng Việt cho đối tượng sinh viên năm cuối của ngành Giáo dục Tiểu học, Khoa Sư phạm, Trường Đại học Cần Thơ, đã vận dụng mô hình PPNCTTđểđánh giá chất lượng dạy học môn học này trong học kì I, năm học 2012 -2013. Quy trình tiến hành bao gồm 5 bước: (1) Nhận diện vấn đề; (2) Thu thập dữ liệu (3) Phân tích dữ liệu; (4) Thực hiện tác động; và (5) đánh giá kết quả. Để thu thập dữ liệu, giảng viên đã sử dụng các phương tiện như: bảng hỏi, phỏng vấn, bảng ghi chép dự giờ... Kết quả vận dụng PPNCTT vào môn Tập giảng Tiếng Việt là căn cứ cho giảng viên đánh giá kết quả học tập của sinh viên cũng như tựđánh giá chất lượng giảng dạy của mình trong môn học này. Wolfe (1989) nhận định rằng “Giáo viên đánh giá sinh viên nhưng ít khi đánh giá chính mình. Thông qua vận dụng quy trình của PPNCTT, giảng viên có thểlàm được cả hai việc này”.
