Xác định đặc tính di truyền của cây cát lồi (Costus speciosus) thông qua hình thái và dấu phân tử ITS, matK
Abstract
Costus speciosus is a common wild plant with high medicinal value, widely distributed across various habitats in Vietnam due to its strong adaptability to Asian tropical conditions. This study aimed to identify the morphological characteristics and determine the genetic features of C. speciosus using the chloroplast matK region and the nuclear ITS region amplified from 8 samples collected from An Dinh Commune, Vinh Long Province; Tan An Commune, Ca Mau Province; Cai Rang Ward, Can Tho City; Hoa Luu Commune, Can Tho City; Vinh Phong Commune, An Giang Province; Nhon My Commune, Can Tho City; Tan An Commune, Vinh Long Province; and Binh Minh Commune, Vinh Long Province. PCR amplification using two specific primer sets successfully produced fragments of approximately 600 bp (ITS1-4 primers) and 900 bp (matK primers). Sequence analysis and phylogenetic assessment revealed a high level of similarity between the samples and reference C. speciosus sequences from GenBank. These results confirm the reliability of ITS and matK markers and highlight their potential application in the identification and discrimination of C. speciosus from other species within the genus Costus.
