Abstract

Facing the limitations of conventional treatment methods, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have emerged as a promising alternative due to their ability to generate highly reactive hydroxyl radicals (*OH), which possess strong oxidizing power and can effectively degrade refractory organic compounds. This study focused on evaluating the efficiency of color and COD removal from textile dyeing wastewater using the combined H2O2/O3 and UV process. The influencing factors, including O3 concentration, pH, H2O2:O3 ratio, reaction time, and UV irradiation time, were investigated to optimize treatment performance. The results indicated that the optimal operating conditions were O3 = 40 mg/L, pH = 8, H2O2:O3 = 1:1, reaction time = 60 min, and UV irradiation time = 75% of the total reaction time. Under these conditions, color removal efficiency reached 70% (from 1060 Pt-Co to 317 Pt-Co), and COD removal achieved 67.2% (from 1380 mg/L to 452 mg/L). The study demonstrates the strong potential of the H2O2/O3/UV process for textile wastewater treatment, showing high treatment efficiency and providing a scientific basis for pilot-scale studies and practical industrial implementation.
