Abstract
In this study, we analyze the impact of teaching style on the satisfaction of students majoring in Chinese, with particular emphasis on the mediating role of learning engagement. Grounded in theoretical frameworks such as Student Involvement, Self-Regulated Learning, and Teaching for Quality Learning, the research adopts a quantitative design employing the PLS-SEM model. Data were collected from 500 Chinese language majors across three universities. The findings indicate that Teaching Style (TS) exerts a positive influence on Learning Engagement (ENG), which in turn significantly affects Learning Satisfaction (SAT), with β_indirect = 0,35; t = 12,7; p < 0,001. These results highlight the pivotal role of teaching approaches in shaping students’ academic experiences and further demonstrate that as students become more engaged, the effect of teaching style on their satisfaction is strengthened.
