Abstract

Low cost micropropagation procedure for vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides) was developed. A liquid MS medium supplemented with 2-4 mg BA.l-1 of medium yielded the best multiplication, with average 8 new shoots during a culture interval of 6 weeks. Proliferation and rooting stage in vitro could be carried out under the natural ambience of a nethouse instead of growth chamber conditions. No statistical differences were observed between the two environmental conditions for propagation and rooting, and survival cluster after ten weeks of acclimatization approximately 100%. Nethouse plants were assessed to be about 22% cheaper to produce than growth chamber plants.

Qui trình vi nhân giống cỏ Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides) với giá thành thấp được phát triển. Môi trường Murashige và Skoog (MS) lỏng có bổ sung 2-4 mg BA/lít cho hiệu quả nhân giống tốt nhất, trung bình khoảng 8 chồi mới/chồi từ một chồi ban đầu sau 6 tuần nuôi cấy. Giai đoạn nhân chồi và giai đoạn ra rễ in vitro có thể thực hiện ngoài điều kiện môi trường tự nhiên của nhà lưới thay vì trong phòng tăng trưởng. Không có sự khác biệt thống kê về sinh trưởng của cây giữa 2 điều kiện ngoại cảnh nuôi cấy cỏ vetiver và khả năng sống sót gần 100% sau 10 tuần đem ra ngoài nhà lưới. Sử dụng môi trường tự nhiên để nhân giống bằng phương pháp cấy mô so với cây được nhân trong phòng tăng trưởng được ước tính rẻ hơn khoảng 22% giá thành sản xuất.
