Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the antibiotic resistance in 60 Edwardsiella ictaluri and Aeromonas hydrophila isolates. All bacteria were isolated from diseased striped catfish in the Mekong Delta during January 1013 to March 2014. The isolates were screened against 15 antibiotics by disk diffusion method. The results showed that E. ictaluri isolates were still sensitive to ampicillin and amoxicillin; highly resistant to tetracyclin, enrofloxacin, streptomycin, fenicol group antibiotics; and  completely resistant to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole. On the contrary, A. hydrophila isolates were sensitive to doxycycline, cefotaxime and ciprofloxacin; highly resistant to tetracycline, florfenicol and all A. hydrophila isolates were completely resistant to trimethoprim/ sulfamethoxazole, cefalexin, penicillin group antibiotics. In particular, all 60 isolates in this study displayed multi-drug resistance. Besides, tetracyclin and florfenicol antibiotics were also used to determine minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) by using dilution method.

Tóm tắt

Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu này là đánh giá hiện trạng kháng thuốc của 60 dòng vi khuẩn Edwardsiella ictaluri và Aeromonas hydrophila. Tất cả các dòng vi khuẩn trong nghiên cứu này được phân lập từ cá tra bệnh từ ao nuôi ở Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long từ tháng 1/2013 đến 3/2014. Nghiên cứu thực hiện kháng sinh đồ với 15 loại kháng sinh bằng phương pháp đĩa khuếch tán. Kết quả kháng sinh đồ cho thấy đa số các dòng vi khuẩn E. ictaluri nhạy cao với kháng sinh ampicillin và amoxicillin; kháng cao với các kháng sinh tetracyclin, enrofloxacin, streptomycin và kháng sinh nhóm fenicol; kháng hoàn toàn với trimethoprim/sunfamethoxazol. Trái lại, vi khuẩn A. hydrophila nhạy cao với các kháng sinh doxycyclin, cefotaxim và ciprofloxacin; kháng cao với các kháng sinh tetracyclin, florfenicol và kháng hoàn toàn với kháng sinh nhóm penicillin, cefalexin và trimethoprim/sunfamethoxazol. Đặc biệt, toàn bộ 60 dòng vi khuẩn nghiên cứu đều thể hiện sự đa kháng thuốc. Ngoài ra, tetracyclin và florfenicol cũng được xác định nồng độ ức chế tối thiểu bằng phương pháp pha loãng trong môi trường lỏng.
