Synthesis of biodiesel from sludge under subcritical condition of methanol and water

mà không cần phải sử dụng xúc tác như potassium hydroxide hay acid sulfuric. Trong nghiên cứu này phản ứng chuyển hóa ester trực tiếp (in-situ transesterification) trong điều kiện cận tới hạn sẽ được khảo sát và so sánh với phương pháp sử dụng xúc tác thông thường. Bùn thải được chọn làm nguyên liệu khảo sát. Kết quả thí nghiệm cho thấy hiệu suất chuyển hóa biodisel đạt được khá cao (90,46 %) khi tiến hành phản ứng trong điều kiện cận tới hạn ở 200°C và 6h. Kết quả đạt được khi sử dụng xúc tác acid sulfuric là 97,05 % ở điều kiện phản ứng là 55°C trong 24h. Do phản ứng được thực hiện trong điều kiện cận tới hạn, không cần phải sử dụng xúc tác nên quy trình tổng hợp rất đơn giản và không gây ô nhiễm môi trường so với khi sử dụng xúc tác. Ngoài ra, trong điều kiện cận tới hạn, nước đóng vai trò như là xúc tác nên việc loại trừ nước trong nguyên liệu là không cần thiết. Phương pháp cận tới hạn được đánh giá là một phương pháp có tiềm năng áp dụng cho các nguồn nguyên liệu chất lượng thấp có hàm lượng acid béo và nước cao.
