A comparison of global optimization techniques for solving the inversion of gravity problem

Luong Phuoc Toan
Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
The memetic algorithm, the genetic algorithm (global optimization algorithms) are applied to determine the thickness of a 2-D sedimentary basin whose density contrast varies with depth as a parabolic function. This memetic algorithm is a combination of the genetic algorithm and the Quasi-Newton local search. These algorithms have been tested on a synthetic model and the interpretable results are coincident with model. Then, they are applied on the Bac Lieu gravity anomaly in the Mekong Delta. The results showed that the calculated depths by two methods above are coincident together. The minimum and maximum computed depths are 0.3 km – 0.4 km and 1.6 km, respectively. Furthermore, the memetic algorithm reaches to a solution faster than the genetic algorithm

Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
In recent years, the development and application of Geographic Information System (GIS) in management works becomes popular in different fields. Typical systems that can be mentioned are the information systems for urban infrastructure management, the urban planning management systems and the land used management system. Nevertheless, the planning and using land management is still shortage of some support tools. For instance, the land valuation is based on legal regulations is usually specified by the annual land price table which is promulgated rovincial People's Committee without providing a computational tool to support the calculating effectively and rapidly. In this article, the method to develop a system was used that will integrate topical data classes including cadastral, topographic and traffic map layer data on the same reference system. In addition, this research propose a method to build automatically the price of land map according to the price of land regulation document of the Provincial People's Committee combine with the cadastral map. For this research, our experimental data is essentially at 1 Ward in Soc Trang Province and the initial experimental result shows that the GIS is integrated the automatic land valuation which is based on the land price list that is regulated by the Governmennt. Furthermore, the system is integrated a supporting estimate tool indemnifying expense to perform clearance the ground for a specific planning project.

Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
Unregulated urban development, high greenhouse gas emission and rising energy cost and increases in service demands have been a pressure in the cities. This study is aimed at monitoring urban greenhouse gas emission and applying "green solutions" to reduce greenhouse gas emission which is one of the economic solutions in “green urban” development strategy. It is to use satellite images on Google Earth and apply object-based image analysis (OBIA) method to create a green tree map in Ninh Kieu district. The result showed that the green tree area is of 621.62 ha with overall accuracy at 85.71% (K = 0.71). Such a tree density in Ninh Kieu district accounts for 50-60% of the standard by the Ministry of Construction. With this green tree area, it could only absorb approximately 60% of greenhouse gas emissions (226,891.30 tons of CO2 equivalent) while the total emissions in three fields including energy, agriculture and waste was calculated at 734,740.48 tons CO2 equivalent.

Dinh Ngoc Quy, Pham Hai Dang, Do Hong Diem
Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
In this paper, the aim is to provide a vector version of Ekeland’s theorem related to equilibrium problems when dealing with bifunctions defined on complete metric spaces and with values in Hausdorff locally convex spaces ordered by closed convex pointed cones. To prove this principle, a weak notion of continuity of a vector-valued function is considered, and some of its properties are presented. Via the vector Ekelands principle, some existence theorems on solutions for vector equilibria are proved in compact domains.

Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
In this paper, a strong vector equilibrium problem (SVEP) which objective function given by a sum of two funtions is considered. By using nonlinear scalarization and metric projection, a projection iterative algorithm for solving SVEP is built. To fulfil it, an auxiliary problem (AP) for SVEP is investigated. Moreover, some properties of objective function given by a sum of two funtions and the relationship between two problems, SVEP and AP, are studied. And then, a projection iterative algorithm for SVEP is proposed. Results obtained in this paper generalize the corresponding ones of Wang and Li (Wang and Li, 2015).

Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
Many studies show that abuse of insecticide in cultivation affect negatively on plant and can cause mutations in organisms (including human) that indirect contact indirectly with insecticide. This study is to investigate cytotoxic and genotoxic effects of a commercial insectiside (Regent 800WG) on root tip of Allium fistulosum L.. Two concentrations of fipronil (0.005% and 0.008%) were used for different periods of time (4 h, 8 h and 24 h). The tested concentrations decreased the mitosis index compared to the control. The result indicated that the different treatments caused diverse types of chromosome abnormalities during mitosis. The chromosome abnormalities were stickiness, disturbance in metaphase, chromosome bridges in anaphase, micronuclei appearing in interphase cells. In addition, there were many abnormal cells after onion roots were treated with 0.005% and 0.008% fipronil.

Nguyen Ho Lam
Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
The purposes of this research were to evaluate the effects of different soil salinity levels to the performance and correlations between agro-biological traits of some salt-tolerant rice cultivars. Two experiments were conducted on saline soils with two different salinity levels of medium (6.35 dS/m) and high (9.90 dS/m), in the winter-spring of 2017, at Thua Thien Hue province. 10 different salt-tolerant rice cultivars were used in the experiment. Agro-biological traits such as plant height, yields, and yield’s components were studied. The results showed that the growth, yields, and yield’s components of the salt-tolerant rice cultivars were poor, especially at the high soil salinity level of 9.90 dS/m. Yields per plant decreased by 14.8% as salinity increased to 3.55 units (from 6.35 dS/m to 9.90 dS/m). To increase the yield per plant at the medium soil salinity level of 6.35 dS/m, the best approach is to find out solutions to increase plant height, total panicle, panicle’s weight and dry biomass of plants. However, at high soil salinity level of 9.90 dS/m, in order to increase the yields per plant, it needs to find out solutions to increase the traits of panicle’s weight, total seeds/panicle, full-seeds/panicle and total dry biomass of plants.

Abstract | PDF (Tiếng Việt)
The study is aimed to determine the appropriate water level, stocking density, and emerged substrate for the development of crab larva from megalop stage to crab 1. The study included two experiments: (1) investigation of different water levels (20, 40 and 60 cm) in combination with stocking density (5000, 10000 and 15000 individuals/m2) on survival of crab and (2) investigation of amount of emerged substrate (0, 2, 4 and 6 m2 substrate area/m2 of floor area) following the best water level and stocking density (the best results from experiment 1). Both two experiments were set up in the tanks (0.1 m2). Water salinity was 26 ‰. Initial megalop size was from 2.08 to 2.10 mm. After 7 days of nursery, there was no interaction between the water level and stocking density on the survival rate of crab (p = 0.226). However, the survival rate of crab at the water level of 40 (76.9%) and 60 cm (75%) were significantly higher and that of water level of 20 cm. At stocking density of 5,000induviduals/m2, survival rate reached 85.6% and it was significantly higher than those of other stocking densities. In the second experiment, the highest survival rate of crab (79.9%) was found in treatment applied 6 m2 of substrate per 1 m2 floor. However, there was no significant difference between the treatments. Results showed that at stocking density of 5,000 individuals/m2, the water level of 40 cm and 2 m2 substrate area/m2 of floor area are the best conditions for nursery megalop to crab 1.
